Chilli Con Carne
This tasty meat sauce recipe is good for chilli con carne, but also for soft or hard shell tacos or mex beef pizza.
Ingredients
- 500gm mince beef
- 2 x 400gm can tomatoes, diced
- 400gm can red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 large onion, chopped finely
- 1.5 tspn garlic
- 3 tspn sugar
- 3 tspn Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tspn finely chopped/minced chilli
- 1/2 tspn chilli powder
- 1/4 tspn paprika
- 1/2 tspn salt
- 1/2 cup red wine
Instructions
- Brown meat of medium heat, add onion for a couple of minutes.
- Add everything else to pot, simmer on low heat for at least 40 minutes, adding extra water or covering depending on how thick/dry you want the meat sauce
- Uncover and continue to cook until enough water evaporates to achieve
